ASCII (الرمز القياسي الأمريكي لتبادل المعلومات) هو نظام لترميز الأحرف يعتمد على الأبجدية اللاتينية. ويستخدم أرقامًا ثنائية مكونة من 7 بتات أو 8 بتات لتمثيل 128 أو 256 حرفًا ممكنًا.

• 0-31 (0x00-0x1F) — Control characters, 32 total, used for device control (e.g., LF line feed, CR carriage return, TAB)
• 32 (0x20) — Space
• 33-47 (0x21-0x2F) — Punctuation marks (! " # $ % & ' ( ) * + , - . /)
• 48-57 (0x30-0x39) — Digits 0-9
• 58-64 (0x3A-0x40) — Punctuation marks (: ; < = > ? @)
• 65-90 (0x41-0x5A) — Uppercase A-Z
• 91-96 (0x5B-0x60) — Punctuation marks ([ \ ] ^ _ `)
• 97-122 (0x61-0x7A) — Lowercase a-z
• 123-126 (0x7B-0x7E) — Punctuation marks ({ | } ~)
• 127 (0x7F) — DEL Delete
• 128-255 (0x80-0xFF) — Extended ASCII (ISO-8859-1), includes European language characters and special symbols
