dbStats (Database Statistics)
dbStats returns current-database statistics — collection count, document count, data size, index size, storage usage — for capacity planning and monitoring. In mongosh use db.stats() or db.runCommand({ dbStats: 1 }). The scale argument sets byte units (1024 for KB). On sharded clusters it returns aggregated figures.

❓ FAQ
QdbStats vs collStats?
AdbStats aggregates at the database level; collStats targets one collection.
QHow do dataSize and storageSize differ?
AdataSize is logical document size; storageSize is disk usage including free space and compression.
QHow do I change the units?
APass scale: 1024 for KB; omit it for bytes.
